Today was a whirlwind. So much happened that it feels like a whole week smushed into 24 hours. God came through like I’ve never experienced before and he didn’t hold back. Here’s the events that sum up our final day in Germany!

Breakfast at hotel. Delicious and free

Researched things to do in Frankfurt instead of devos… oops

Did a listening prayer for our day, heard God say to go to the airport. I laughingly told Rachel. She felt peace but felt it was for later. No urgency

Met with Jamil the owner of the restaurant last night. Made us a whole breakfast spread for free. He ate with us and we were able to learn more about him.

Went back to hotel to pack. Left packs in storage again. Did another listening prayer and both heard to go to the airport. Again, no urgency.

We tried calling the airport lost and found. No one answered. Checked email. Nothing

Still no purse

Felt led to return to Jamil with a note and some prophetic art. We prayed over him and encouraged him. He was so grateful! And gave us some pomegranate. Pray for Jamil!

Returned to hotel and ran into a man with some strange universalist beliefs. It was a spiritual and mental rollercoaster. But we were able to get a few words in and he heard the gospel. Pray for Dennis.

We felt shaken up a bit from that encounter so we went for a walk and ended up at our favorite local restaurant.

Got good coffee. Prayed and God made it clear we NEEDED to get to the airport. This time we felt an urgency to move.

Ordered a ride. Got packs from storage. Loaded up. Got to airport 30 minutes before lost and found closed.

Waited in line. PRAYED.

No purse.

We prayed more and felt God saying to go back in and talk to them again. We felt him saying that the purse was here. Rachel connected with the service lady. She was compassionate and helpful. She looked again. Still no purse.

Sat outside office. Continued to pray. Feeling confused and discouraged.

Continued to seek the Lord. Prayed that he would reveal the hidden thing to the lost and found people.

A younger lady came to pick up an item at the office too. Heard us quote scripture about God revealing hidden things (Dan 2:22). Started conversation with Rachel while waiting. Was encouraged by us.

Another random upset passenger barged into the office after it closed. Police were called. Prayed for peace. They weren’t letting anyone else in the office. No questions. Was resolved peacefully.

Rachel sat to process with the Lord. Heard him say to listen to what Alayna hears from the Lord.

Alayna hears to wait. Wait. Wait. Saw vision of someone coming out of office with Rachel’s purse.

Prayed some more. Rachel heard God say again to follow whatever Alayna heard while praying.

So we waited

Started checking finances. Alayna felt God saying for Rachel to walk past the office glass door so they knew we were still outside. Just in case. She didn’t see anyone but the lights were on inside.

Rachel sat back down.

Wondered if we were crazy

God still told us to wait

Rachel prayed for God to use this to build our faith

Man from lost and found office approaches us from a different door

Asks if one of us is named Brenner (Rachel’s last name)

Said yes. He said they had FOUND THE PURSE

Said even though they were closed they would let her in to get her purse and pay a fee for it.

Tears of joy and bewilderment and awe

Rachel goes in. Couldn’t pay with card because they were closed.Man covers part of fee since we only had a little cash on hand. Woman gives Rachel cookies (the ones she has been looking for while we’ve been here!) and a hug and shares that she had found the purse shortly after they closed and they were trying to call us. She shared that one of her coworkers had seen Rachel walk past the door so they knew we were still waiting outside. That’s why the man came and found us.

Rachel shares part of our story, how we prayed, and how God had answered! Testimony shared with lost and found people!

Rachel returns to Alayna.

More crying. More joy.

Runs to ticket desk. Gets sent to different desk.

First lady helps get our tickets rebooked. Told us we would pay 250 euro each for rebooking fee. And 80 euro for each checked bag without proof of original payment.

Her computer glitches. We are sent to another lady.

Second lady is confused about our extra luggage fee, finds out it’s a miscommunication. No luggage fee needed!

Hears our story. Talks with supervisor. Says we have been through enough and waives the rebooking fee.

WHAT

Second lady also escorts us down to baggage check in so we don’t have to wait in line. An angel?

Get to security. Get through pretty easily. Then to customs.

Line is long and slow. An employee moved us to another line

This line was also slow. Got closer to window, got moved from place in line to be first at another open window. God?

Get to gate right as our boarding group is called.

Open seats on plane to spread out.

FINALLY GETTING TO ROMANIA

There are so many more details coming up as we replay it. The timing in everything was crucial. We had to show up 30 minutes before closing in order for Rachel to have time to wait in line and go in twice. We needed to be there past closing so they would find the bag, see her walk by to know she was still waiting, and come get us. Then we had just enough time to get rebooked, check luggage, get through security and customs, and basically walk onto the flight. Not a moment was wasted. God came through just in time in ALL of it. We were obedient and HE SHOWED UP.

As of now we are in the train station in Bucharest, Romania waiting for the early morning train to Craiova. We will be joining our team/squad soon! Thanks again for all the prayers and generosity. We had all of our needs met and more! God is so good and this is an incredible testimony that we get to share! More pictures and posts to come! There’s just so much to put in one post.
