Here are a few things about me so you can get an idea of who I am and where I come from.
1. I am the oldest of 4 kids, and I have a niece and nephew that I am obsessed with.
2. I’m from Minnesota but I lived in Florida for a few years during and after college.
3. God got my attention at an early age. I accepted Jesus as my savior in Sunday School when I was about 5 or 6, and my relationship with God took a more serious turn when I was in college.
4. I was a teacher for 5 years, before my first Race. I taught 3rd grade and middle school science (definitely would be fine as the crazy scientist type).
5. God gave me a love for missions and travel since I was young. It has been fun to see how He has used that so far in my life, and I look forward to how it will continue.
6. When I ‘grow up’ I want to be a published author. Reading and writing are my top hobbies, and I have more books than space on my shelves.
7. I am a nerd. A few of my favorite nerd things include Star Wars, anything superhero, Harry Potter, and Doctor Who.
8. In January 2020 I launched with Expedition squad. We made it to our first three countries before we were called home to the States due to Covid-19. My hope is to continue this journey with the Lord however he opens the doors. I grew immensely in my short time on my original Race, and I can’t wait to experience all the Lord has for my life. Hopefully round 2 is a bit less eventful.
Alayna! You and me both, sis. I never thought the World Race would be an option for me either. Pretty hard to leave the comforts of a career and a well crafted future for the unknown but we will do it together! I’m so excited to have a sister on my team and i’m looking forward to all of the conversations and growing we are going to do together. You make me feel calm and that is a sweet feeling going into what we are going in to. CAN’T WAIT.
