Hello and welcome to my first blog of 2022!

For the past week I have been at Adventures In Missions headquarters in Gainesville, GA for leadership training. It’s been fun getting to know the new people I’ll be leading with, as well as reconnecting with people from my last race who are also alumni leading with me. We spent time learning from our leadership about sabbath, spiritual warfare, the cost of leadership, and many other things. We were able to share our testimonies with each other which has brought us closer as a leadership team. It’s been a sweet time of growth and excitement!

Then on Saturday night the Racers arrived! It’s been fun seeing launch from the other side, especially since I’ve done it twice as a Racer. I get to be a part of empowering this new group and getting them ready for launch in a few days. I also got to finally meet my new team! I love them already, and God is giving me ideas and ways to challenge them and encourage them in the coming three months.

We’ve also had a route change already. Guatemala, which was supposed to be our first country, has changed their vaccine requirements so we won’t be able to go there. Instead, we will spend the first two months in Honduras. My team will be in the mountains, tenting, with limited electricity and amenities. It’s different than what I had on either of my previous races, but I’m looking forward to seeing how God grows me in it.

In other news, fundraising is still happening! It’s honestly been challenging this time around. With covid, a short time at home, and not a lot of time to work, money is tighter for me than it has been the other two times. But I’ve watched God provide for me to be fully funded for both of my Races, so I have no doubt he will do it again!

I don’t have specific deadlines this time around, but it is harder to fundraise from the mission field. I would love to be fully funded by Friday, Jan 14th when my squad launches for Honduras, so I need to raise about $2800 more to be fully funded.

And today, January 10th, I’m doing a $10 on the 10th fundraiser! If you feel led to donate $10, or any other amount, you can join in on the fun! Donations can be made through this blog by clicking the donate button at the top of the page. Donations made here are tax deductible. Otherwise donations can be made to me through Venmo (alaynawood) or PayPal (alaynawood92).

Prayer requests:

  • Safe travels as we go to Honduras

  • Health and negative covid tests for the squad so everyone can launch together on Friday

  • For unity in this new squad as they journey into this new season together

  • Financial provision for now and when I come home in April

Thanks for following my blog and keeping up with my journey. Your prayers and support mean so much! It’s having an impact on the Kingdom simply by your faithfulness. I’m praying for you!
